We're On The Road

We're 273 miles from Gainesville, heading for Texas! Jenee, Jolie and Linda left yesterday and arrived safely.

Dad and I are motoring along at 65mph, and I can tell you the truck and trailer are heavy!

Gainesville was so good to us, we're sad to leave all our friends behind. Jenee and I already miss all of you. We will be back to visit soon, promise!

Please pray for our safety on the road, "people are crazy".

It's Moving Day Eve

Well, the time is almost here. Our home is packed up and we are ready to roll. Gainesville has been a wonderful place for me to get experience in a world class research facility, Jenee and I to start our marriage and also start our family, and now we're ready to see what God has lined up for us next.

I know you are all busting to see more pictures of Jolie, and they are coming. I made a promise to Kayla that I would post more so I will do everything in my power to do so by the weekend.

Please keep us in your prayers, Jenee and Linda are flying with Jolie in the next day or so and Dad (Paul) and myself are driving the distance with the trailer loaded up and the two cats on Wednesday.

See you all on the other side of the trip!

14 Days Old

I can hardly believe it, our little girl is 14 days old. In fact yesterday was her due date, but here we are, changing diapers, not following routines and giving so much joy!

The last few days have been tough on Jenee and I. Jolie has been a little fussy at night, keeping us up until 4am. Jenee is such a patient mom, and she so lovingly cares for the little girl. It's been a little challenging for us as we learn to adjust for her needs, but it's something we so happily do.

Jolie has been putting on weight, and we can already see the changes in her, she's still little, but not little-little. She's definitely more alert, responding to our voices as well as loud noises around the house. And we're seeing her eyes more too. Of course we're all wondering whose eyes she has (color).

Well, I only have a few minutes left before the circus starts up again, so I am going to catch 40 winks.

Signs You're Becomming a Daddy...

  1. Your daughter fills her diaper as you carry her into the pediatricians room and you cant help but laugh
  2. Your daughter refills her diaper after the nurse has taken her [rectal] temperature, ready for the Doctor, and your impressed at the amazing smells she's capable of making
  3. You find yourself clipping hair bow's to your shirt so you don't lose them
  4. You instinctively burp-pat your wife when you give her a hug
  5. You find you are capable of the most amazing multitasking
  6. You don't remember your social security number or your address, but you wouldn't dare forget your wife's StarBucks order
  7. You keep signing your name as the patient, rather than the parent
  8. You wake up to your sister's phone call to find yourself gnawing on your own arm, drowning in your own slobber
  9. Amazingly you can survive on spurts of 1.5 hours of sleep
  10. Speed dials on your phone are now: 1. Lactation Consultant 2. Pediatrician 3. Afterhours Emergency 4. OB/GYN
  11. All the nurses at the OB/GYN know your first name
And that's just my first few days...
