Tummy Pictures

I realized today that I haven't posted a tummy picture for a while. There's a good reason for this. The short story is I have loaned my lenses to a friend who broke hers and needs to finish up her Photography class. I will take one with my iPhone and post it ASAP!

My Little Girl is Already Naughty

And I love it! Now is the time that Jenee has really been noticing that our little girl is kicking around a lot. Quite often Jenee will burst out with a "stop it badness," in response to the baby playing her own soccer game. My usual response is to quickly put my hand on her tummy and try feel her kicking and almost every time without fail she will stop kicking. So naughty...

Well last night I think I out smarted her. Jenee was resting on me after I rubbed her sore back and so I put my hands on her tummy. It didn't take long for the action to start, it was as if there was a football game going on. I could feel her huge kicks against her mommy, like mini earth quakes. Jenee tells me that it's even more impressive after she's had something sweet.

It's getting close now and I am getting increasingly excited. The more I think about it, the more excited I get. I think I have been secretly been looking forward to being a Dad for a long time. Can't wait!

To add to the excitement my Dad called me to tell me he's booked his ticket to come to be with us for the birth! Sadly Mum can't come because she's just had her left knee replacement and it would be too risky for her to travel just yet. Hopefully Nanna can come for Christmas? Sadly I don't think my sisters can make it either but they will get to meet Trixy when we come back for our next visit.

I Wish I'd Known Sooner

There are about 6-7 good bike shops in Gainesville, and to my supprise they sell many of the respected names in mountain bikes like Gary Fisher, Canondale, Trek and Specialized. I always wondered why stock so many mountain bikes whe there wasn't that many good places to ride nearby. Enter 'The Really Cool Bike Shop'. Jenee and I had sometime to kill and I asked if we could stop in just to have a look around. To my supprise this little shop was actually really well presented with lots of bikes and friendly knowledgable staff. I struck up a conversation with one staff member and eventually he asked me, 'So where do you ride?' To which I sadly answered that I haven't really done any single track because the nearest trail is a drive away and until recently I didn't haves means of getting my bike out there. His eyes lit up clearly in disbelief at something. It didn't take buta moment before he started sharing how there are more than 65 miles of maintained singletrack dirt trails within the Gainesville city limits, most within riding distance of my house. I could hardly believe it, all this time there were trails so close to me I could have been enjoying.
With a baby on the way, time is getting tighter but I plan on going out and enjoying them! Watch this space cause I have heard there are some great tracks to be ridden!
