Heaven is a New Chair

Yesterday something very special arrived. Its big, brown, soft and relaxing. Jenee's mommy chair is here! Its a nice leather recliner that we chose because it will lay flat, so if need be you can sleep in it while holding baby.

I was allowed to sit in it for a few minutes and I must say a days stress just melts away in it. I was watching Jenee's face as she rested in it last night and I could see her relax as her feet stopped hurting and slowly the rest of her body stopped hurting.

Isn't she just glowing!

My Amazing USB Flash Drive

Most things in this world are amazing, like how birds fly, why the sky is blue and how much fur Marble can shed in a day.

Some man made things are also amazing, like aeroplanes, computers and watches with their tiny little gears.

I think my flash drive is amazing. I have had it for 5 years and on it I can carry thousands of pictures, or songs or videos, but that's not what's so amazing about it. What's amazing is that it has been through the washing machine and dryer twice in it's lifetime and it STILL works flawlessly. I discovered it last night as I pulled the washing out of the dryer. My heart sank realizing I have all kinds of documents on there, without backup. Plugging it into my computer I was amazed to see it recognized and see all the files there. It's really quite baffling...

We're So Excited!

Of course with a baby comes baby stuff, and with baby stuff comes the need for a place to put all that stuff! Jenee and I have been pretty busy nesting at home for the last few weeks. We've been selling things we no longer need or use on Craigslist, which is first only two throwing stuff out (it's so therapeutic!).

We have some really really cute stuff for Trix, some of the onesies are so adorable and small. I can't believe she's going to fit into them. Apparently not for long...

This last weekend we attended our 2-day Birthing Class. 10 hours of presentations on labor and birthing and breathing and positioning. In my mind it was very worthwhile as I now feel like I understand what's going to happen. I think Jenee is still a little less enthusiastic about the whole thing... Can't say I blame her.

Anyway as a part of my excitement I just couldn't wait any longer and had to put our car carrier in place. It's kind of exciting to see it in the rear view mirror and know that in a few months there will be a little person in it.

I have played around with the chair so much now that I feel like an expert getting it in and out. We got the Chico system which in my mind was worth every single penny. It's so easy to click into place, literally attaching it to the base and is slides down and self-locates, locking into place.

It also has a built in leveling system and belt tensioning method that made installation very easy job. The degree of engineering is obvious just looking at it.

I have also been working on refinishing a bassinet we bought for a very good deal from Craigslist. I have stripped the scratched up finish off and repainted it a lovely white based tint. I am not showing it just yet because Jenee is doing some work with the fabric. You can see it when it's done!

Baby Showers for Our Girl

Well at the time of writing, Jenee is 31 weeks and 2 days! The excitement is really starting to mount at home. We have been blessed to have had 2 baby showers thrown for us here in the States and one in Australia when we were there at Christmas time. I am not going to fill in all the details here, but rather wanted to express our thanks to God and to all of our family and friends for their acts of generosity and kindness.

As you can see, we have had plenty of cake in our diet! This cake was from our PERC baby shower. I have been so astounded at how generous people have been. We have recieved many items of clothing, toys and other essentials as well as gift cards. Last week Jenee and I decided to take a day from work and head off to Jacksonville to close out our baby registries there. I have to say, we had a lot of fun, and as you can see below were able to get almost everything remaining on our registry using gift cards alone. What a blessing! This weeks goal at home is to finish writing our thank you cards, so be checking the mail!
